Audience
In “Audience”, you can find a visitor and view their data and activity history. Opening the list requires permission to view the audience. First install the widget on your website and enable “Collect visitor data” in Widget integration. Choose a mode in “When to collect data”: with “Only with consent”, collection begins only after the user gives consent.
A custom event, such as report_created, lets you check a website action in the visitor's history. Define the event in Events and send it from your website code. Content metrics in Analytics count displays and actions involving the content itself; custom events do not change them.
Visitor list
The top of the list shows these metrics:
- “Total”;
- “Identified”;
- “Active in 24 hours”.
Audience search finds profiles by name, email, or external ID. The table shows each visitor's status, “Last activity”, and number of sessions and events. Click a row to open the profile.
Visitor profile
The profile card shows the status, primary identifier, “First visit”, “Last activity”, “Sessions”, and “Events”. Use the tabs:
- “Overview” — attributes and recent events;
- “Events” — event history;
- “Content” — content displays, clicks, and completions;
- “Sessions” — the visitor's sessions and the number of events in each.
Click “Download data” to save this profile's data as JSON. This requires permission to view the audience.
Anonymization and deletion
In the “More” menu, choose “Anonymize” to remove data that can link the profile to a person. “Delete” permanently removes the profile and its history. Flowtomate asks for confirmation before either action. Check the profile and download any data you need before deleting it.
Both operations require permission to delete audience data. “Viewer” and “Editor” do not have this permission by default; “Administrator” has it, and a custom role can grant it separately.
If a profile is missing or data does not load
If you see “Profile not found”, return to “Audience” and check the search by name, email, or external ID. If loading fails, check your permission to view the audience. If the list is empty, make sure the widget is installed, “Collect visitor data” is enabled, and the selected “When to collect data” mode allows collection for the visitor.
